Novalis Branch (NSW)
The Novalis Branch is on the land of the Gumbaynggirr People; Gumbaynggirr language is part of a living culture since the yuludarla – the dreaming. Country is not defined by boundaries delineated on maps, but through relationships, lived experiences and storylines. The custodianship of Gumbaynggirr People spans 80km of beaches, headlands, rivers, estuaries, creeks, mountains and flood plains – an area now known as ‘the mid north coast’ – Nambucca to the Clarence river and west to the Great Dividing Range. We pay our respect to the Ancestors, the Elders past and present.
About the Novalis Branch
Rudolf Steiner describes Anthroposophy as ‘… a path of knowledge, which intends to lead what is spiritual in the human being to what is spiritual in the universe’. The Novalis Branch is dedicated to providing a public face for Anthroposophy in our region and beyond, and to consolidate the many rich offerings we individually and collaboratively make available.
Novalis: Rudolf Steiner speaks of the significance of Elias as an individual who set before us the goal and destiny of all humankind. He traces how this individuality reincarnated at the turning point in time to be initiated by Christ Himself, as Lazarus-John, representing the evolution of humanity, to then appear as Raphael – revealing through colour and form the true nature and being of Christianity – and bringing to light the Mystery of Golgotha. In the poet Novalis, this impulse arises as word, and “stands revealed in wondrously beautiful words what Raphael had placed before humanity in colours and forms of rarest loveliness [1].
The Novalis Branch aspires to work in the consciousness of this impulse out of Social Threefolding.
