SUMMARY:Five Big Questions about the Tricky Issue of Consciousness
DESCRIPTION:Perspectives on History & Human Consciousness: Past\, Present and Future\nA 6-week online workshop with Sydney Rudolf Steiner College \n  \nJoin our Steiner Education students as they ponder and debate five big questions about the tricky nature of human consciousness and its effect on the way we understand history. \nEach evening workshop will unpack one of these questions: \n\nWhat if people of the past saw the world differently from us? And how would we know?\nWhat does ‘evolving consciousness’ actually mean? And why is this concept central to Steiner philosophy?\nDo I really need to understand Steiner’s philosophy to teach in a Steiner School?\nCould myths and legends be more than just stories? What deeper secrets do they hold?\nWhat effect could computers have on our future consciousness? We don’t encourage their use in Steiner Education – do we need to rethink our stance on this?\n\nIf you have ever wondered about what you’ve read in Steiner works\, or are involved in a Steiner school\, or even just intrigued\,  join us for our online workshops where we unpack some of the big questions about our past and how they shape the possibilities of our future development. Whether your interest is Steiner Education or Steiner philosophy\, come and join in to the conversation. \nThis online course is led by Dr Fiona Campbell who has researched this topic for 25 years. Fiona has been a lecturer at Sydney Rudolf Steiner College since 1994 and combines her wealth of knowledge and experience in Anthroposophy and visual arts training with her studies about human consciousness and phenomenology.  \nBook now! \nCourse Dates: 9th & 16th June\, 25th August\, 1st September\, 13th & 20th October. \nVenue/Time: Zoom online 7:30pm to 9pm (Sydney time) \nCost: $200 including GST and reading materials. SUMMARY:Five Big Questions about the Tricky Issue of Consciousness
DESCRIPTION:What does it mean to say our consciousness is evolving?\nWorkshop 2 of a 6-week online course with Sydney Rudolf Steiner College \n  \nJoin our Steiner Education students as they ponder and debate five big questions about the tricky nature of human consciousness and its effect on the way we understand history\, past\, present and future. \nIn the 1st session we unpacked the concept of ‘consciousness’ and how we have virtually lost our capacity for a participatory consciousness of our ancestors and replaced it with an abstract rationality that prefers to step back from the world and theorise about it. \nIn session 2\, we will follow up this discussion by asking: \nWhat does ‘evolving consciousness’ actually mean? And why is this concept central to Steiner philosophy? \n  \n  \nIf you have ever wondered about ‘evolving consciousness’ in Steiner works\, or are involved in a Steiner school\, or even just intrigued\,  join us for our online workshops where we unpack some of the big questions about our past and how they shape the possibilities of our future development. Originally planned as a 1-day workshop in Maitland\, the program has been moved online due to lockdown in Greater Sydney/NSW.  \nBut the webinar is also a stand-alone event for anyone who would like to understand how the secrets of the Nature are disclosed through studying the dynamics and patterns of the life force that streams through us and the world\, from the circling of the stars\, in the movements of the water and air and in the patterns out of which the activities of the organs are formed. We are looking at the archetypal forms of movement and the forms which arise out of these movements.   \nPresenters \nMartin Samson\, author\, poetic philosopher and theologian\nDr Fiona Campbell\, cognition and creativity researcher\, lecturer and artist \nIrmhild Kleinhenz\, Anthroposophic naturopath and integrative health consultant \nWhen: 4.00pm-6.00pm AEDT\, Saturday 14th August 2021\nRegister: Click here to register.\nFlyer: click here\nCost: $20 or a donation of your choice would be much appreciated\nEnquiries: or Fiona Campbell or Martin Samson  \n

SUMMARY:Five Big Questions about the Tricky Issue of Consciousness: Theme 3
DESCRIPTION:Do I really need to understand Steiner’s philosophy to teach in a Steiner School? \nWorkshop 3 of a 6-week online course with Sydney Rudolf Steiner College \n  \nJoin our Steiner Education students as they ponder and debate five big questions about the tricky nature of human consciousness and its effect on the way we understand history\, past\, present and future. \nIn the 1st session we unpacked the concept of ‘consciousness’; in session 2\, we further explore what is meant by ‘evolving consciousness\, and why this concept is central to Steiner philosophy. \nNow\, in session3\, we will follow up this discussion by asking: \nDo I really need to understand Steiner’s philosophy to teach in a Steiner School?  \n\n\n\nWe will examine some core principles of Waldorf pedagogy in the context of consciousness and culture. It introduces Steiner’s cultural epochs and outlines their relationship to human development and the Steiner school curriculum. Some core assumptions of the Waldorf curriculum are examined in light of current pedagogical research. \n\n\n\nSo\, if you have ever wondered about ‘evolving consciousness’ in Steiner works\, or are involved in a Steiner school\, or even just intrigued\,  join us for our online workshops where we unpack some of the big questions about our past and how they shape the possibilities of our future development. \nBook now! \nCourse Dates: 25th August\, 1st September\, 13th & 20th October. \nVenue/Time: Zoom online 7:30pm to 9pm (Sydney time) \nCost: $200 including GST and reading materials. SUMMARY:Enlivening The Script Within
DESCRIPTION:Developing a salutogenic approach to life through reconnecting to the World ether\nThe 2nd Etheric Geography webinar presented by the Stream of Life research group \n  \n\nInspired by our first webinar? \nLooking for ways to enliven and strengthen your own inner forces?  \nTo deepen your understanding of the dynamic nature of the World ether? \nThen join us for our 1-day intensive continuing the themes introduced in Reading The World Script. \nBut now we turn to human life: exploring how the forces and patterns of the Script work in our soul life\, in our thinking and in our own life body. \n\nWhat is it about?  \nThis intensive is more practice-based and interactive than the first\, as we workshop how to enliven the life forces within so as to be prepared to meet the challenges of today. By bringing the starry imaginations into our picture-making process with Martin\, learn how to enliven our thinking through experiential work with Fiona\, and then study the effects of these formative forces on our health with Irmhild. We will close the day with a contemplative healing ceremony. \nDo I have to have attended the first webinar?  \nNo\, the intensive is open to anyone and everyone interested in this theme. There are pre-webinar exercises that will only take a few minutes of your time to practice\, and some readings if you would like some background material to help provide you with some context. \nPreparing for the intensive – materials\, readings\, exercises. \nSo that the intensive can be interactive\, ensuring participants get the most out of the intensive\, a selection of exercises and readings will be sent out once you have registered. There is also a list of materials you will need to collect in advance\, to be used during Fiona’s sessions.  \nWill the intensive be recorded if I can’t attend that day? \nThe medical lecture will be recorded. However\, the contemplative healing ceremony and experiential work will not be recorded\, due to the nature of these activities.  \nWhat is salutogenesis?  \nSalutogenesis is a way of looking at health from the perspective of what does it mean to be a healthy human being\, as opposed to focusing on our pathologies. It uses physical\, soul and spiritual principles to understand the source of health.  \nEvent details \nWhen: 11.00 am -5.00pm AEDT\, Saturday 18th September 2021\nCost: $50 for the day plus registration fee. Fee includes 3 preparatory exercises to practice in advance. Hardship concession on request. \nProgram \n 11am-12.00pm  Welcome and Theme: Key Elements for a Moon Astrology with Martin Samson\n12-1pm Theme: Developing Water Thinking\, experiential work with Fiona Campbell \n1pm-2pm lunch \n2pm-3pm  Theme: Developing Water Thinking\, further experiential work with Fiona Campbell\n3pm-4pm Theme: How do I understand salutogenesis in relation to my own health? with Irmhild Kleinhenz\n4pm-5pm Ceremony: Contemplative healing work with Martin Samson \nPresenters  \nMartin Samson\, author\, poetic philosopher and theologian\nDr Fiona Campbell\, cognition and creativity researcher\, lecturer and artist \nIrmhild Kleinhenz\, Anthroposophic naturopath and integrative health consultant \nFor more information \nEnquiries: Martin Samson msamson@email.org.au\nClick here for more details about the program and the presenters \nREGISTER  HERE !

DESCRIPTION:The Sienna Academy promotes artistic and therapeutic painting courses that bring healing through working with the spiritual archetypes of light\, darkness and colour. Artistic mediums include water colour moist-on-moist and veil painting; charcoal\, pastel and pencil drawing. \nCourses weave together 3 main strands of teaching: developing the student’s artistic abilities; developing the skills to work therapeutically as a painting therapist and making more conscious the inter-connectedness of inner and outer colour world as a path of self- development. \nThere are daily lectures and discussion bringing alive insights given by Rudolf Steiner about the Human Being\, together with medical lectures and case studies to help each person to go on their own healing journey; a necessary prerequisite for being able to work effectively with others. SUMMARY:The Actuality of Rudolf Steiner: An Interdisciplinary Exploration of Steiner in the 21st Century
DESCRIPTION:International Steiner Symposium\nRudolf Steiner wrote and spoke prolifically about a wide range of areas\, from social and political theory to philosophy\, from spirituality to ethics\, and from education to biodynamics. A common thread in this vast corpus of work was Steiner himself pointing out that everything he wrote and said was contextually bound by his experiences and surroundings.  \nThis invites the question: What can be learnt from Steiner’s works which can help us understand today’s society and our role within it? \nThis online symposium seeks to address this question through an interdisciplinary collection of papers and contributions dealing critically and constructively with Steiner’s work. As such\, it sits within the Institute for Education and Social Innovation’s (ibugi) broader research project of the same title: The Actuality of Rudolf Steiner. \n  \nWhat’s it about?  \nThe symposium is part of the broader ibugi project which opens a dialogue with Steiner’s ideas and discourses and investigates where and whether approaches to the topics such as Consciousness and Reality\, Gender and diversity\, Social justice and social innovation and Ethics can be found in his works.  \nAs part of an interdisciplinary research symposium\, the presenters do not claim to provide final interpretations and readings of Steiner. Rather\, they are interested multifaceted\, individual and creative perspectives in order to promote academic examination of research questions that seem relevant to today.  \nLocal speakers \nThe symposium is international\, with speakers and researchers from round the Anthroposophical world presenting on this theme\, through the lens of their own fields of expertise. From our local region\, Dr Neil Boland who is well known for his research into Steiner Education in New Zealand has a prerecorded paper titled The actuality of anthroposophy in the 21st century academy\, concerning anthroposophy as a path of knowledge which seeks to lead what is spiritual in the human being to what is spiritual in the cosmos\, and its visibility and status in the academy; and Dr Fiona Campbell\, who researches cognition and creativity\, is speaking about Goethean phenomenology as a cultural therapeutic for our times.  \nWho is it for?  \nThe symposium is for anyone who seeks to understand the challenges that are coming to meet us from the future\, for anyone who is open to new ideas\, to thinking freely and working together interactively in the fields of education and social innovation. \nThe symposium is also free and online so accessible to anyone. \nWhen: Oct 9\, 2021 – Oct 11. The symposium runs on Central European Summer Time (CET)\, so the opening lectures on the Friday night are in the middle of the night AEDT but the Saturday and Sunday lectures are accessible in the evenings. E.g. Fiona’s paper will be given at 11pm AEDT. \nWhere: Online. Holding the symposium online enables international contributions and participation. Recordings of some sessions will be available.  \nCost: Free \nRegistrations now open.  \nClick here to register

SUMMARY:What effect will digital technology have on our future development?
DESCRIPTION:We don’t encourage computer use in Steiner Education – do we need to rethink our stance on this?\nSydney Rudolf Steiner College presents Workshop 5 of this 6-week online course with Fiona Campbell \nJoin our Steiner Education students as they ponder and debate five big questions about the tricky nature of human consciousness and its effect on the way we understand history\, past\, present and future. \nIn the early sessions we looked back to humanity’s far past to understand the concept of ‘evolving consciousness’ and why this concept is central to Steiner philosophy. We then examined its role today in the foundations of Steiner Education.  \nNow\, in session 5\, we will follow up this discussion by looking to the future and ask: What effect will digital technology have on our future development? We don’t encourage its use in Steiner Education in primary years – do we need to rethink our stance on this? \n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn this workshop we will discuss the pros and cons of using digital technology in educational contexts and its implications for human development and our evolving consciousness. When we look to the far future\, what could be some of the consequences of our current immersion into the virtual world and our reliance on what it offers? \n\n\n\n\n\n\nSo\, if you have ever wondered about ‘evolving consciousness’ in Steiner works\, or are involved in a Steiner school\, or even just intrigued\,  join us for our online workshops where we unpack some of the big questions about our past and how they shape the possibilities of our future development. Whether your interest is Steiner Education or Steiner philosophy\, come and join in to the conversation. \nThis online course is led by Dr Fiona Campbell who has researched the topic of evolving consciousness for 25 years. Fiona also has a Masters in Digital Media and Information Science and has taught digital technology skills for almost ten years. She has been teaching at Sydney Rudolf Steiner College since 1994 and combines her wealth of knowledge and experience in Anthroposophy\, information science and visual arts with her studies about human consciousness and phenomenology.  \nBook now! \nCourse Dates: 13th & 20th October.\nVenue/Time: Zoom online 7:30pm to 9pm (Sydney time)\nCost: For the cost of individual sessions please contact Jing Li \nContact Us\nFor more information\, click here or email Jing Li  \n \n

SUMMARY:What is Transformative Art & Architecture?
DESCRIPTION:A free public lecture introducing The Spiritual Architecture of the Creative Process seminar\nThe Transformative Art & Architecture (TAA) Professional Development Initiative was founded by Johannes Schuster in 2017. \nThe aim of this initiative is to develop and promote an Anthroposophically based Theory of Transformative Art & Architecture\, which is based on the spiritual view of the human being and universe taught by Rudolf Steiner. The methodology arising from this theory is known as Biosculptural Architecture. Course participants may choose to do further study to qualify as Biosculptural Consultants. \nThe vision of TAA is for the forms of Art & Architecture to become forces for “Goodness\, Truth and Beauty” in the world. This vision takes its inspiration from Rudolf Steiner himself\, who in one of his lectures to the workers at the first Goetheanum\, spoke of the forms of Art & Architecture of the future as having the power to: \n\n… teach (human beings) how to love\, \n…. pour a spiritual fluid into hearts and souls….. \n…. turn evil into good…. \n                                 Rudolf Steiner\, “Ways to a new style in Architecture”\, 1914 \n\nHow to join the lecture\nNo need to register in advance. Just join the meeting by clicking the button below \n  \n\nJoin the lecture here.  \n  \nFor more information \nYou can find more information about the course on the flyer. Or visit the Biosculputural Architecture website.  \nEnquiries: contact Johannes Schuster.

SUMMARY:The Spiritual Architecture of the Creative Process
DESCRIPTION:How the cosmic creative process is mirrored in nature and the human being. How we can practically use this to transform the world.\nA Transformative Art & Architecture (TAA) seminar  \nAn online 6-day seminar over three weekends from Saturday 30th October to Sunday 14th November 2021. \n  \nWhat is it about?  \nThis “Creative Process” seminar begins with the question of how spirit condenses into matter\, which is also how nature manifests her forms. From the human perspective however it is the other way round: if we want to transform the world\, we must learn how to raise matter up to spirit\, which is what the theory of Transformative Art & Architecture (TAA) is concerned with. The archetypal creative process therefore has a downward manifestation phase\, as well as an upward transformation phase. This is how spirit and matter interact to become one. \nRead the course program here. You can find also more information about the course on the flyer \nPresenters \nJohannes Schuster has been actively involved with Anthroposophy for over 30 years. He currently works as a Biosculptural-Architectural Consultant and adult education tutor. His special interest has been the study of etheric forces and how these become the mediating link between spirit and matter. This has been the basis of his interest and involvement with art and architecture. \nSue Schuster is an Art teacher with extensive experience in both main stream and Steiner Education\, from primary through to senior secondary levels. She has also been active in Adult Education and Steiner Teacher Training programs in Australia and overseas. \nYou can read more about Johannes and Sue here.  \nDates \n28 October 2021: free public lecture: What is Transformative Art & Architecture? \nSeminar Dates\n30-31 October 2021\n6-7 November 2021\n13-14 November 2021 \nCost \nThere are two rates: a discount rate for the full course and a weekend rate for those who prefer to pay in instalments.  \nDiscount rate for the full course \nProfessional:  $900 (3 x $300)\nConcession:    $675 (3 x $225)\nFor Students:  $450 (3 x $150) \nWeekend rate per weekend \nProfessional:  $350\nConcession:    $275\nFor Students:  $200 \nAl payments dues in advance by the preceding Tuesday.  \nHow to enrol \nFor enrolment form and registration information \nClick here. \n \nOr visit the Biosculputural Architecture website.  \nEnquiries: contact Johannes Schuster.  \n  \nImage: photo courtesy of Johannes Schuster \n  \n
