DESCRIPTION: … Like to a God he is become\,  \nKnowledge he has of evil and good\,  \nHe can lift up his hand on high\,  \nWhereby he liveth eternally.  \n  \nThe Oberufer Paradise Play portrays creation and ‘the fall’ together with the spiritual forces that lie behind the events we see acted out on the stage. It prepares us to celebrate the birth of Christ and is the first of the Oberufer plays which were collected by Karl Julius Schroer\, one of Rudolf Steiner’s teachers. They were passed on by oral tradition from a community living on the island of Oberufer on the Danube. The three plays represent a unique survival of the medieval mystery play tradition \nThe Oberufer Paradise Play will be performed followed by an address\, carol singing and breakfast. DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\n\n“A sad tale’s best for Winter… I will tell it softly; yond crickets Shall not hear it.”\n\n\n\n\nA play by William Shakespeare presented by the Michael Drama Group \nA story of love\, death\, madness and transformation through suffering – not quite a tragedy\, or a romance\, or a comedy\, but an enigmatic blend of all three. The play takes us through a process of dying away\, of descent and of Winter\, but also that of emerging from darkness into light with the new life of Spring. \n\n\n\n\nThis performance will run for 4 hours including an interval. \nDates \n9 April\, 4pm\n10 April\, 4pm\n12 April\, 6pm\n13 April\, 6pm \nThe performance commences at 4pm or 6pm sharp. Please be seated by this time. Pippa will share her knowledge and experiences out of her work as an anthroposophical palliative care nurse and introduce us to the core principles and things we can do ourselves when caring for someone. \n10.25 – 11.25am : “End of Life Legalities and Documents\, Death Care and Funeral Practicalities” with Melinda. \n11.25 – 11.45am : Morning tea break \n11.45am-1pm : “Soul and Spirit Care at End of Life” with Cheryl\, Pippa and Melinda. Supporting a dying person and their carers and community around them in body\, soul and spirit. This is an interweaving of many things including nursing care\, conversation\, counselling\, meditation\, prayer\, ritual and ceremony. \n1 – 2pm : Lunch. Bring your own lunch. \n2 – 3.15pm : “The Vigil- Death Care” The laying out of a person’s body in preparation for a vigil with Pippa. \n3.15 – 4pm : Questions and Closing Thoughts. \n\n\n\n\n4 – 4.15pm : Afternoon Tea \n4.15pm – 5.15pm : Festival to Remember Those who have Died. \n5.15pm : Finish/Departure \n  \n\n**All welcome to attend The Act of Consecration of the Human Being at 8am. \n\n  \nAbout the presenters \nPippa White has a Diploma of Nursing and a Diploma of Holistic Nursing (Anthroposophical Nursing). She has worked as a palliative nurse for 15 years\, both in institutional and home based care and for 11 years as an anthroposophical nurse both in general nursing and palliative care. She has facilitated many parent workshops for home nursing care for children and on topics of death and dying. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMelinda Whyman is the Community Activator for the not-for-profit ‘Tender Funerals-Greater Eastern Melbourne’ initiative. She has previously worked as a holistic funeral director guiding individuals\, families and communities through all aspects of the funeral care process. \nCheryl Nekvapil is a priest of The Christian Community working in Melbourne.
