SUMMARY:Therapeutic Art Training at Sienna Academy\, 2nd module
DESCRIPTION:The Sienna Academy promotes artistic and therapeutic painting courses that bring healing through working with the spiritual archetypes of light\, darkness and colour. Artistic mediums include water colour moist-on-moist and veil painting; charcoal\, pastel and pencil drawing. \nCourses weave together 3 main strands of teaching: developing the student’s artistic abilities; developing the skills to work therapeutically as a painting therapist and making more conscious the inter-connectedness of inner and outer colour world as a path of self- development. \nThere are daily lectures and discussion bringing alive insights given by Rudolf Steiner about the Human Being\, together with medical lectures and case studies to help each person to go on their own healing journey; a necessary prerequisite for being able to work effectively with others. The students own practise at home involves daily painting\, charcoal work\, observation exercises\, meditation\, study and written assignments. \nThe Post Graduate Training taught in Australia and China takes 3.5 years to complete. Students come together for two 4-week  blocks of training a year. SUMMARY:What effect will digital technology have on our future development?
DESCRIPTION:We don’t encourage computer use in Steiner Education – do we need to rethink our stance on this?\nSydney Rudolf Steiner College presents Workshop 5 of this 6-week online course with Fiona Campbell \nJoin our Steiner Education students as they ponder and debate five big questions about the tricky nature of human consciousness and its effect on the way we understand history\, past\, present and future. \nIn the early sessions we looked back to humanity’s far past to understand the concept of ‘evolving consciousness’ and why this concept is central to Steiner philosophy. We then examined its role today in the foundations of Steiner Education.  \nNow\, in session 5\, we will follow up this discussion by looking to the future and ask: What effect will digital technology have on our future development? We don’t encourage its use in Steiner Education in primary years – do we need to rethink our stance on this? \n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn this workshop we will discuss the pros and cons of using digital technology in educational contexts and its implications for human development and our evolving consciousness. When we look to the far future\, what could be some of the consequences of our current immersion into the virtual world and our reliance on what it offers? \n\n\n\n\n\n\nSo\, if you have ever wondered about ‘evolving consciousness’ in Steiner works\, or are involved in a Steiner school\, or even just intrigued\,  join us for our online workshops where we unpack some of the big questions about our past and how they shape the possibilities of our future development. Fiona also has a Masters in Digital Media and Information Science and has taught digital technology skills for almost ten years.
