SUMMARY:Therapeutic Art Training at Sienna Academy\, 2nd module
DESCRIPTION:The Sienna Academy promotes artistic and therapeutic painting courses that bring healing through working with the spiritual archetypes of light\, darkness and colour. Artistic mediums include water colour moist-on-moist and veil painting; charcoal\, pastel and pencil drawing. \nCourses weave together 3 main strands of teaching: developing the student’s artistic abilities; developing the skills to work therapeutically as a painting therapist and making more conscious the inter-connectedness of inner and outer colour world as a path of self- development. \nThere are daily lectures and discussion bringing alive insights given by Rudolf Steiner about the Human Being\, together with medical lectures and case studies to help each person to go on their own healing journey; a necessary prerequisite for being able to work effectively with others. The students own practise at home involves daily painting\, charcoal work\, observation exercises\, meditation\, study and written assignments. \nThe Post Graduate Training taught in Australia and China takes 3.5 years to complete. Students come together for two 4-week  blocks of training a year. In addition\, the course includes students’ independent work at home\, practicals essays and a Final Case Studies Work. \nFor more information\, see here \nDates for 2021\nApril 5 – 16            Carmine Red (past event) \nApril 19 – 30          Cobalt Blue (past event) \nSept. 20 – Oct. 1     Orange \nOct. 4 – 15               Turquoise \nOnline Modules \n(For students unable to travel)\nMarch 29 – 16       Carmine Red (past event)\nApril 19 –May 7     Cobalt Blue (past event)\nSept. 13 – Oct. 1     Orange\nOct. 4 – 22               Turquoise \nThe cost for on-site modules\n$850 each module (14 Modules)\nMaterials are not include in the cost. \nThe Post Graduate Training is accredited by iARTe (International Association of Anthroposophic Arts Therapies Educations – formerly European Academy)

SUMMARY:The Actuality of Rudolf Steiner: An Interdisciplinary Exploration of Steiner in the 21st Century
DESCRIPTION:International Steiner Symposium\nRudolf Steiner wrote and spoke prolifically about a wide range of areas\, from social and political theory to philosophy\, from spirituality to ethics\, and from education to biodynamics. A common thread in this vast corpus of work was Steiner himself pointing out that everything he wrote and said was contextually bound by his experiences and surroundings.  \nThis invites the question: What can be learnt from Steiner’s works which can help us understand today’s society and our role within it? \nThis online symposium seeks to address this question through an interdisciplinary collection of papers and contributions dealing critically and constructively with Steiner’s work. As such\, it sits within the Institute for Education and Social Innovation’s (ibugi) broader research project of the same title: The Actuality of Rudolf Steiner. \n  \nWhat’s it about?  \nThe symposium is part of the broader ibugi project which opens a dialogue with Steiner’s ideas and discourses and investigates where and whether approaches to the topics such as Consciousness and Reality\, Gender and diversity\, Social justice and social innovation and Ethics can be found in his works.  \nAs part of an interdisciplinary research symposium\, the presenters do not claim to provide final interpretations and readings of Steiner. Rather\, they are interested multifaceted\, individual and creative perspectives in order to promote academic examination of research questions that seem relevant to today.  \nLocal speakers \nThe symposium is international\, with speakers and researchers from round the Anthroposophical world presenting on this theme\, through the lens of their own fields of expertise. From our local region\, Dr Neil Boland who is well known for his research into Steiner Education in New Zealand has a prerecorded paper titled The actuality of anthroposophy in the 21st century academy\, concerning anthroposophy as a path of knowledge which seeks to lead what is spiritual in the human being to what is spiritual in the cosmos\, and its visibility and status in the academy; and Dr Fiona Campbell\, who researches cognition and creativity\, is speaking about Goethean phenomenology as a cultural therapeutic for our times.  \nWho is it for?  \nThe symposium is for anyone who seeks to understand the challenges that are coming to meet us from the future\, for anyone who is open to new ideas\, to thinking freely and working together interactively in the fields of education and social innovation. \nThe symposium is also free and online so accessible to anyone. \nWhen: Oct 9\, 2021 – Oct 11. The symposium runs on Central European Summer Time (CET)\, so the opening lectures on the Friday night are in the middle of the night AEDT but the Saturday and Sunday lectures are accessible in the evenings. E.g. Fiona’s paper will be given at 11pm AEDT. \nWhere: Online. Holding the symposium online enables international contributions and participation. Recordings of some sessions will be available.  \nCost: Free \nRegistrations now open.  \nClick here to register
